What to know about universal life
Universal life lets you change premiums and coverage within policy limits. Paying less than the policy needs can reduce cash value or cause the policy to lapse, so funding matters. Some versions offer guaranteed coverage with little or no cash value.
Flexibility explained
We show what happens to cash value and coverage if you pay more, less or skip a premium.
Guaranteed vs. current
We separate guaranteed values from projected ones on every illustration.
Carrier-neutral
As an independent agency we compare carriers rather than representing a single company.
No pressure
You get options to review in your own time. Deciding not to buy is a fine outcome.
How it works

Honest answers to common questions
What does the universal life review cost?
Nothing. The review and quotes are free, and there is no obligation to buy. If you choose to buy a policy through us, the carrier pays us a commission — you do not pay us a separate fee.
How is universal life different from whole life?
Whole life usually has fixed premiums and guaranteed cash value. Universal life lets you adjust premiums and death benefit, and cash value depends on interest the carrier credits and on policy charges.
Can a universal life policy lapse?
Yes. If cash value can no longer cover policy charges, the policy can lapse unless you pay more. We show you how funding affects this on any policy you consider.
How is it different from indexed universal life?
Universal life credits interest at a rate the carrier sets. Indexed universal life links credited interest to a market index, subject to caps and floors.
Is coverage available in my state?
Availability depends on where you live and on our licensing and carrier appointments. If we cannot help in your state, we will tell you directly rather than pass your details on.
