What “sized right” means

Buying too little leaves your family exposed. Buying too much — or the wrong type — wastes money you could put elsewhere. We aim for the amount and term length your situation calls for.

Needs first, product second

We start with your debts, income, mortgage and family — not with a product we want to place.

Term where term fits

For most income-replacement and mortgage needs, term provides the most coverage per premium dollar. We will say so.

Carrier-neutral quotes

As an independent agency we compare carriers rather than representing a single company.

No pressure

You get a coverage range and quotes to review in your own time. Deciding not to buy is a fine outcome.

How it works

Three steps. Free, and no obligation at any point.

Needs Analysis

Tell us about your income, dependents, mortgage, debts and any coverage you already have. We work through the numbers using the DIME method.

Personalized Coverage Range

You receive a recommended coverage amount and term length — with the reasoning behind it — so you can see exactly how we got there.

Carrier Quote

We quote carriers available in your state and walk you through the options. You decide whether and when to apply.

Honest answers to common questions

What does the needs analysis cost?

Nothing. The needs analysis, coverage range and quotes are free, and there is no obligation to buy. If you choose to buy a policy through us, the carrier pays us a commission — it is built into the carrier's pricing, so you do not pay us a separate fee.

Why do you usually start with term life?

Because for most people the need is temporary: replacing income while others depend on it, paying off a mortgage, or covering the years until children are independent. Term covers those needs at a lower premium than permanent coverage for the same death benefit. If your situation genuinely calls for permanent coverage, we will explain why — and you can read the trade-offs yourself in the free comparison guide.

How do you work out how much coverage I need?

We use the DIME method as a starting point — Debts, Income replacement, Mortgage and Education — then subtract coverage and savings you already have. You get a recommended range with our reasoning, not a single number picked to hit a premium.

Do I need a medical exam?

It depends on the carrier, your age, your health and the coverage amount. Some carriers offer accelerated underwriting without an exam for qualifying applicants; others require one. We will tell you which applies to your quote before you apply.

Is my rate guaranteed?

Quotes are estimates until the carrier completes underwriting. Level term premiums are typically fixed for the level period once a policy is issued, but the final rate depends on the carrier's review of your application.

Can I switch to permanent coverage later?

Many term policies include a conversion option that lets you convert to a permanent policy within a set window without new medical underwriting. Conversion rules vary by carrier and product, so we will point out the conversion terms on any policy you consider.

Is coverage available in my state?

Availability depends on where you live and on our licensing and carrier appointments. If we cannot help in your state, we will tell you directly rather than pass your details on.

What happens to my information?

We use it to prepare your needs analysis and quotes and to contact you about your request. We never sell your information. See our Privacy Policy for details.
